Can I get better fuel economy on a diesel by installing a less restrictive air intake and larger exhaust?

I have an 06 F250 with a 6.0 L diesel and don’t get much fuel economy. I don’t want to put a chip in it because I don’t think it wil;l help the fuel economy and may void the warranty.
